1. During peak summer months, adjust your zones to run for a longer period of time.
2. Make sure your irrigation system has a master valve to stop big leaks and a potentially high water bill.
3. Make sure your system has a rain sensor installed to prevent watering when it rains.
4. Upgrade to a wi-fi controller that is equipped with a weather station. This will allow your controller to predict the weather and adjust settings automatically.
5. Have proper nozzles in each head to ensure each area of the lawn is getting the right amount of water.
6. Use sprinkler heads with built in check valves to prevent water from leaking out of them after the system has stopped
7. Have your irrigation company come out mid-summer to check on heads and make any adjustments needed to water times.
8. Ensure no sprinkler heads are blocked by growing plants or trees. This can cause a gap in coverage and potential burning spots in the lawn
9. Drip irrigate plants and trees to ensure they receive the proper amount of water.
10. Make sure our system is winterized properly and all of the water is blown out of the system for winter.
